I think this concept will flourish. I like this type of small business owner. One of the companies is Moo Shoes. The company has a line of shoes(Novacas)that were made without harming any animals in the process. These are smaller companies that do want to grow like any other company, but they just want to do things their way.
This is a great concept. People are tired of being marketed. . Junk mail, TV commercials, spam, advertisements on every page, people are tired of being hounded. It's a great way for small business owners to go.
With the current push to "go green" I can see this concept taking off. As a consumer, you may want to support a cause or a life choice but often find it difficult to do so as a result of the limited choices offered. Big business is currently falling from grace and a niche business is the way to go.
small business owners may manage their company in a different way, it is normal because the company structure is different than large companies. So it is good for them to figure out their own way to manage it.
