I have had my business for 12 years and we still live way below our means. That way, when business slows or cycles we have no worries.

When I started my business, I started with a small federal tax refund and a 0% Best Buy credit card. I purchased computes on the Best Buy credit card and was sure to have it paid off before interest kicked in.

Really great tips to consider when starting a small business.

It certainly help to cut costs in the beginning. My employer has been around for 98 year and still tries to cuts cost everywhere possible. We reuse the back side of paper when possible. I have had to learn to be creative finding cheap ways to market out company;such as adding flyer's in with invoices. This saves on envelope and postage. My thought is to always trim down costs no matter if you have been about for 6 months or 100 years.
