I think if I started my own business I would want to be a no-employee business. Maybe just me and my daughter. Keep it simple, I have been very frustrated with the quality of employees. It seems more and more they just don't care or have that same level of work ethic.

I'd agree Debbie. I like the idea of it just being me. However, there does come that inevitable time when the business has to expand...*shudder*.

The problem, though, becomes, how do you get any time away from your business? Vacation, ill, family pressures, how do you handle those issues?

As a business owner there are no paid holidays, sick time, vacation, etc. In fact, it can be extremely difficult to take any time off.

I have my own small business and you know what they say "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it". Well, all I ever wanted, professionally, was to own and run a successful business. Now that I have for so many years, some days it seems as though I created this machine, that drags me along. Don't get me wrong, I love it, however, it can be extremely overwhelming.

I think for small businesses it could work well with no employees. since the business is small, they don't need to hire any other outside people if there is enough people in the family members. It saves money and it is more secure without any outsider.
