Recently, after 12 years in business, I was faced with a possible layoff. I have never even cut a staff members hours before, let alone lay someone off. I was able to delay the inevitable by not taking a paycheck for 3 months, but finally I had to layoff one team member. We have worked together to come up with some very creative ideas to keep him coming to work as needed and supplement his unemployment.
Small business owners make many sacrifices for the sake of the business and the team.
